The … More platform is in two parts, “explore by campus” and “explore by subject” providing visitors a unique insight via current students’ experiences of living and studying at the University of Exeter.
We had some very specific requirements when developing our platform, and I cannot fault The Virtual Tour Experts in their ability to meet our needs. From the outset, The Virtual Tour Company really worked to understand what we wanted in our final platform. Through concept; to image capture; to tour development, The Virtual Tour Company have constructively led us in producing a final product that exceeds our expectations in both form and function. In addition, their level of customer service and has been exceptional, they really want to provide the very best product possible and are continually looking to further improve the platform and have a real eye on the future.
Higher Education is a rapidly changing sector, which fits a cyclical student recruitment cycle. With this in mind, we wanted the ability to quickly edit and amend content and 360 images ourselves to enable us to quickly react to changes, and provide the most up to date information for visitors. The Content management system (CMS), which sits behind the platform, is incredibly easy to use and has given us the freedom and flexibility to develop our own tours and further develop them over time. It is this ability to change the tours ‘in house’, which really drew us to The Virtual Tour Company and will allow us to further develop the tours over time alimenting the “shelf life” problem that these platforms can sometimes face. Furthermore, the analytics portal built in to the CMS is an invaluable reporting tool with a wealth of information. This has provided really interesting and surprising insights in how visitors enter and engage with the platform and has led to further development and leveraging the most popular elements of the platform. -
